Join us as one of our newest Consulting Pharmacists in Oklahoma City! The consulting pharmacist performs various duties to support our mail service customers and internal Customer Service Advocates. The pharmacist consults with customers, pharmacies and/or physicians and provides explanations and interpretations within area of expertise. Consultations include, but are not limited to: Completing Drug Utilization Reviews (DURs), Discontinuing medications, Initiating resends of orders, Counseling patients on medication use and interactions, Identifying specific medications by appearance, Advising patients and CSAs of alternative medications, Interpreting prescriptions, Updating allergy and disease profiles, Make outgoing phone calls to patients for follow-up, Take new prescription orders from prescribers, Make outgoing phone calls to drug manufacturers. All consultations are telephonic.
Skills / Requirements
- Current and unrestricted Pharmacist license for the State of OK
- Experience in retail, mail order, managed care or PBM preferred, but not required.
- Recent graduates accepted
- Basic to intermediate level of experience with MS Office suite and the ability to type and navigate a Windows environment
- Experience using on-line clinical references and accessing professional (clinical and regulatory) internet sites
- Up-to-date clinical skills (through current work practice or demonstrated upon interview)
- Fluent English speaking skills; bilingual and multi-lingual candidates fluent in English are highly desirable
- Able to communicate effectively and professionally both orally and in writing
- Able to work effectively in a team environment and interact with colleagues in a professional and supportive manner
- Able to communicate effectively and at the appropriate level with healthcare professionals, peers and patients
- Strong customer service skills including knowledge of standard phone etiquette, problem solving and customer interfacing skills
- Organized, detail oriented and excellent on follow-up
- Able to work flexible schedules and rotate job functions
