Job Description

Position Description:

This position is responsible for assisting the pharmacists with the routine nursing unit deliveries; record-keeping, checking of supplies and equipment, clerical functions and filling of unit dose carts in order to assist in the smooth running of the Pharmacy Department.

Incumbents are assigned to all duty areas: receiving/storeroom duties, controlled substances duties, Pyxis, Anesthesia trays, delivery duties, and medication cart refill duties. Regardless of the assignment, the technician assists the registered pharmacist with record keeping, clerical, unit inspections, and delivery functions.

Though a registered pharmacist or supervisor checks all work done by this position, the technician still plays an important role in the smooth functioning of the pharmacy department.

Position Requirements:
National PTCB Certification required
