The CVOR/Vascular Surgical Technician is responsible for assisting the physician in the direct care of the patients in the operating room environment with a primary focus on CVOR and Vascular Service lines. The CVOR surgical technician functions under the supervision of the surgeon and the Registered Nurse. Demonstrates a comprehensive knowledge of the CVOR and Vascular service line with regard to principles and knowledge of surgical instruments, equipment, surgical supplies and technical skills. He/She possess thorough and demonstrated knowledge of regulatory standards and possess inventory management skills required within the CVOR/Vascular Service Line. Able to provide a focus on the development and training of surgical technician staff in techniques unique to the CVOR/Vascular Service Line.
Must possess a high school diploma or GED equivalent. Graduate of surgical technology program. Exhibit proficiency in patient care. Excellent oral communication skills. Expertise in the theory and application of sterile and aseptic technique. Knowledge of human anatomy, surgical procedures, and technological tools. Extensive knowledge and skill within the CVOR/Vascular Service line.
Desirable characteristics include at least two years of experience as a Surgical Tech within the CVOR/Vascular Service Line. Must be able to follow directions and perform work according to department standards under the supervision of an RN. Must be emotionally mature and able to function effectively under stress. Willing to undertake service line responsibilities with CVOR/Vascular.
Certified Surgical Technician with CVOR/Vascular Experience.
Possess a current Oklahoma Certificate as a Certified Surgical Technician and maintain certification while employed at Hillcrest Hospital South. Must possess current BLS certification upon hire and maintain certification.
