Labor and Delivery RN, Peggy Helmerich Women's Center at Hillcrest Medical Center, Tulsa, OK

Our Labor and Delivery nurses are changing lives for the better, together. We work with providers as a team, focused on our priority to provide safe and healthy deliveries for our patients. Our experienced Labor and Delivery nurses display integrity, professionalism, sound judgment and are team players, paying attention to details with the ability to make quick decisions. Skilled in working in OB triage, high-risk antepartum and Labor and Delivery units, we work in a highly-collaborative environment with ancillary departments, case management, medical students, residents, physicians and midwives. We are committed to continuous performance improvement and attend training on a regular basis to ensure that we give the absolute best possible care to our patients. We train side-by-side with health care providers, which is proven to be a best practice. It is imperative that our Labor and Delivery nurses uphold the policies, protocols and behavior standards of Hillcrest Medical Center and our department.

As a Labor and Delivery nurse you have the following duties and responsibilities:

  • Ø Providing support for the mother during labor
  • Ø Monitoring the fetal heart rate, and mother's vital signs
  • Ø Measuring the strength and timing of contractions
  • Ø Administering medications and performing diagnostic tests
  • Ø Consulting with physicians and other members of the care team
  • Ø Assisting with inducing labor
  • Ø Coaching the mother during delivery
  • Ø Identifying and assisting with complications
  • Ø Assisting with various procedures, including Cesarean sections
  • Ø Monitoring and performing tests on newborns
  • Ø Providing education and support to mothers and families after delivery
Position Requirements:

Graduate from an accredited RN school
Valid Oklahoma RN license
BLS, ACLS, NRP
