The Registered Nurse shall be responsible for assessing, planning, supervising and evaluating the nursing care of patients and for correlating the nursing process, the medical plan of care and policies.
1)Demonstrate knowledge of conditions, diseases, and treatment therapies for unit specific populations
2)Continually assess patients' physical, physiological, social, and educational needs to determine level and type of care.
3)Develope, prioritize and maintain patient plan of care to include patient problems, goals, interventions
4)Implement plan of care baces on patient acuity, identified needs, and physician orders
5)Administer medications and treatments effectively and skillfully
6)Demonstrate safe and effective use of all unit equipment
7)Demonstrate competence in managing potential patient risks; falls, isolation, infant security,
8)Effectively evaluates the outcome of interventions and implements necessary changes to plan of care
9)Collaborates with other health professionals in the management of health care
10)Documents assessments, interventions (including use of supplies and equipment) and outcomes of care accurately, objectively, and timely
11)Demonstrates knowledge of patients' rights. Serves as an advocate for patients/families regarding decisions affecting their plan of care. Has knowledge of process for resolution of ethical dilemmas.
