    The Noble Research Institute LLC in Ardmore, Oklahoma, is seeking a Research Associate I - FTT to assist with all aspects of lab, field, and/or greenhouse work to support the scientific research objectives of a DOE funded project. The successful candidate will perform research on beneficial plant microbes related to the sustainability of switchgrass in the Southern Great Plains of the United States. This position will be under the direct supervision of Dr. Michael Udvardi with research being supervised jointly between Dr. Udvardi and Dr. Kelly Craven.

    This temporary position is funded through a grant from the US Department of Energy's CBI program. Funding is anticipated to be renewed annually based upon performance and funding availability and is scheduled to end on or before September 30, 2022.

    Research Associate 1 (Lab) Job Description

    Duties of this position will include but are not limited to cultivation, harvesting and partial analysis of plants and associated microbes grown in greenhouse and field experiments. Also, this position will support the work of postdocs researching on bacterial and fungal endophytes, including diazotrophs.


    Bachelor degree in biology, chemistry, microbiology or related field is required in addition to excellent written and oral communication skills. Training in microbiology and some experience working with plants is preferred. The successful candidate should be self-motivated to work independently and also be a good team member.

    Because of the physical demands of this position, the selected candidate will be required to successfully complete a work steps test.
