POSITION SUMMARY: Perform all types of welding, brazing, and cutting using welding machines, various types of weld preparation, welding and weld finishing operations to manufacture product to customer drawings, specifications, or other forms of instruction.

• Abide by all Oil states Energy Services, LLC Safety and Operational Policies and Procedures.
• Weld metal components together to fabricate or repair products according to layouts, blueprints, or work orders, using brazing and variety of arc and gas welding equipment.
• Perform related tasks, such as thermal cutting and grinding.
• Perform assigned welding techniques.
• Set up and adjust necessary equipment, such as shielded and electric arc welders, as well as chooses the correct filter rods and torch tips for the job, when these are needed.
• Degrease materials to be welded and makes appropriate measurements to ensure materials fit the specifications.
• Read blueprints and cut or shape metal according to the specifications of the print.
• Maintain equipment according to manufacturer requirements.
• May engage in soldering and grinding materials using a range of equipment, including bending machines and shears, in addition to flame cutting equipment.
• Lift, move and hold, or clamp work pieces to table, into jigs, or into position as directed, manually or by using hoist, pry bars, wrenches, hammer, and wedges.
• Clean work pieces to remove impurities, such as slag, rust and grease, using wire brush, portable grinder, hand scraper, or chemical solutions.
• Connect hoses from hand torch to oxygen and fuel gas cylinders or connects cables from power source to electrode holder and work piece or fixture.
• Examine completed welds to ensure they meet standards or specifications.
• Add, tag or mark, and move finished work.
• Consistently meet productivity levels established by the Company.
• Weld components in flat, vertical, or overhead positions.
• Ignite torches or starts power supplies and strikes arcs by touching electrodes to metals being welded, completing electrical circuits.
• Clamp, hold, tack-weld, heat-bend, grind or bolt component parts to obtain required configurations and positions of welding.
• Operate manual or semi-automatic welding equipment to fuse metal segments, using processes such as gas tungsten arc, gas metal arc, flux-cored arc, plasma arc, and shielded metal arc, resistance welding, and submerged arc welding.
• Other duties as assigned.

• Must be able to read and interpret drawings.
• Knowledge of wire and filler materials applications for various steel alloys and aluminum.
• Working knowledge of fixturing and weld set-up parameters (amps, volts, etc.).
• Recognize and use hand and power tools common to the welding trade, such as shielded metal arc and gas metal arc welding equipment.
• Proficient in assigned welding techniques.
• Solid knowledge of welding equipment.
• Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair and maintenance.
• Must be able to weld multiple processes carbon, stainless and galvanized, steel pipe welding (6G); MIG, TIG and Stick
• Demonstrate effective verbal, written, and communication skills.
• Demonstrated ability to perform in a professional manner as a member of a team to give inputs on activities that will help complete project assignments in a timely and efficient manner while upholding the quality and safety standards.
• Must successfully pass pre- and post- employment drug and alcohol test per company policy.

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• 2 years’ experience in oilfield work or related field preferred.
• Submerged Arc Welding experience a plus.

• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds regularly and 75 pounds, or more, occasionally.
• Requires pushing, pulling, bending, standing, kneeling, carrying, sitting, climbing for extended periods of time each day, and working in awkward positions (i.e. overhead).
• Good vision (with or without corrective lenses) required and includes close vision, color vision, and ability to adjust focus.
• Exposure to burn hazard and flying objects, such as chips and scale.
• Must wear safety shoes, goggles, gloves, and masks designed for protection against extreme heat from welding torch during the welding process.
